Welcome to
Ek Kardia!
It is with
great excitement we introduce you to Ek Kardia- which in
Greek means “from the heart”! The purpose of this
biblically based organization is to provide mothers and
their daughters opportunities to enrich their
relationship while serving our community.
Our
daughters, in their pre-teen and teenage years, are in
an amazing season of their lives as they transform from
girls to young women. This is a rich as well as
fleeting time. We believe this season of their lives
can be enhanced as they discover the significance and
purpose that comes from actively making a difference in
the world. Inspired by Joshua 22:5, where we are
commanded to not only love God, but to serve Him with
all our heart and soul, we want to begin what we hope
will be a life-long practice of giving and serving “from
the heart”. |
| The
past few years, we have been overwhelmed by the
response of Mothers and Daughters who have found
their place in Ek Kardia. Highlights from the last
years have been: Kick off parties, bowling nights,
Christmas caroling to the elderly, painting the
nails of women at Seacrest Convalescent home,
feeding the homeless, beautifying Harbor UCLA
Children’s Clinic, making scarves for the homeless,
and pillows for kids who ride the bus to see their
imprisoned parents, Adventure Plex, Bull riding, End
of the year Celebrations, Daughter of the King
weekends and so much more. The girls have seen
first hand that elderly people feel loved when
handed a blanket that we made for them, that
homeless people are still people who need to be
cared for, that a children’s hospital can be
brightened up with fun decorations on bulletin
boards, and that elderly women are still princesses and
love to have their nails done. What a blessing to
be used in the lives of needy people! |

Active membership begins in intermediate school
and ends with high school graduation. Although
founded on biblical principles we are in no way
exclusive. Our membership reflects a variety of
beliefs and backgrounds.
Along with many service options that we provide
for you to do, our year consists of special
events, activities, and social gatherings. It
is also our desire that the families of Ek
Kardia members benefit from this experience,
therefore the required time and monetary
commitment has been thoughtfully considered so
as to not be burdensome to anyone.
