Daughter
of the King is a "Rite of Passage"
weekend for teenage girls. It was created by Doreen
Hanna, ten years ago, and is now a nationwide
program. During the weekend there are many
seminars which include: "Discovering Who I Am",
"The Value of True Friends", "The
Men in My Life", "Feelings verses
Faith", and more. Overall the girls are
affirmed in their God-given personalities and giftings.
Coinciding with the seminars are a tea party where they
learn manners, and a make-up session in which
a make-up consultant teaches them how to apply make-up
that enhances their natural beauty. The
weekend culminates in an Evening of Celebration where the girl's
dad or another significant man in their life pronounces
a blessing on them and crowns them
with a tiara. Families are invited to this special
evening; there isn't a dry eye in the house!!
